Interview with Precision Associates
ISD's newest Technical Leader Sponsor
The ISD inBrief sat down with Precision Associate's Marty Loso to find out more about our newest Technical Leader sponsor.
ISD inBrief: First, let me say thank you for your extra level of support of the ISD through the Technical Leader sponsorship program. We truly appreciate your commitment. Let's start with a quick overview of your role with PAI.
Loso: I've been with PAI since 1971, starting in production, working up through supervision and eventually management, becoming Sales Manager in 2005. It's been a long and interesting ride. Precision Associates has been in business since 1955 manufacturing standard and custom molded rubber seals.
We joined the ISD in part because PAI does not have a national sales force, and the ISD provides us with several opportunities each year to be in contact with our customers, in person and in webinars, etc. We value the relationship.
inBrief: PAI has been a member of ISD since 2006; what's your perspective on our overall direction?
Loso: Well, obviously networking is key for any association, but we hope that the organization will continue to learn what the member's needs are, continuing to provide technical training along with the CFSP program. We think that's a strong value add for the membership.
inBrief: So, I assume that was a major reason for you to sign on as a Technical Leader. Are there other advantages that you see as well?
Loso: We appreciate the increased opportunity to let our distributors know about our technical capabilities and the services we can provide them. The programs that are emerging such as the Sealing Your Success e-Seminar series and the new Spring technical event are great ways to both showcase Associate expertise and help Distributors with employee development.
inBrief: Speaking of the Spring technical event, thank you so much for agreeing to host it! We are excited to see the depth and variety of topics that we'll be able to offer, thanks to the enthusiastic support of many of our Associates, particularly the Technical Leader sponsors. Any thoughts on that event?
Loso: We're looking forward to it. The layout of our new plant should lend itself well to having several classes going on at once. We know that not everyone has seen an actual rubber manufacturing operation, including a clean room and believe this will be of interest to distributor's technical sales staff. With our machine shop and maintenance facilities, we expect that other types of seal manufacturers will have a unique opportunity to do some hands on training as well.
inBrief: Marty - thanks so much for taking the time to sit down with us and share some of your perspectives on the ISD. We look forward to a great event in May and seeing you then.
